HISTORY
His History is the one of an arab town that last centuries, but it ends at the beginning of the XVII century with the moriscos expulsion.
It was populated again with people that came from Valencia and Granada, and later with Majorcan peasants that works the land of the "Ordre de Santiago".

If you go for a walk in the urban helmet of Sagra and you half-closes the eyes, you will believe that you are going for a walk in an Arab town, you will even seem to hear their racket and the screams of the last Moorish rebels' rebelliousness in the 1609 against the Real Order that throw out them of their lands.

Our church, of the XVII century, is in the square. The city council has dedicated a street recently to the Poet Vicent Andrés Estellés. Aquesta via està situada prop de la Font, lloc de passeig i esplai famós per la densa ombra dels plataners al qual s'ha afegit el paratge natural de la font del Mortit i el poliesportiu municipal.
