History: The first project was presented in 1879 and it received its agreement in 1883. The works began in 1884 and were drawn very rapidly so that in august of 1885 the line was completed. A prolongation to Sant Carles de la Ràpita was autorized in 1903 but was not built. Due to its very flat profile, the tramcar was towed by only one mule.

The fleet was originally composed by 3 double deckers cars of belgium origin with 1st and 2nd classes. The upper deck was distmantled very soon and no longer existed in early 1890's. The service to Jesus was curtailed in an uncertain date and in 1928 the rest of the line was closed waiting for an electrification project that never was implemented .
