History: The line was created by the 'S.A. El Tibidabo' company to link the tramway city system to the funicular that climbed to the summit of the Tibidabo mountain. The 4 km extension to Vallvidrera entered in service in  26.2.1904 and closed in 1937. Due to economic difficults, the line was offered to the municipality in 1979 and put under TMB authority. In the '80, the line was modernised and service resumed in  1991. Actually in service only at weekends and school holydays,  is now  an heritage line.

Furthermore: Established in single track and passing loops with buried 'Vignole' track, actually is fitted with grooved rails and double track. Tramcars are fitted with track brakes due to hard profile.
