About our first number

The first number of CEIDIR's Review is integrated by two articles/papers in Spanish and two in English.

Paradoxically, the contributions in English are about the Mexican experience. One of them refers to the impact of regional development policies implemented in Mexico since the 1940's until recent years. The second is devoted to the analysis of recent political changes and the transformation of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).

The contributions in Spanish refer to local and human development concepts, goals and experiences. The first is concerned with best local development practices around the world which have been recognised by international institutions such as OCDE and UNIDO. The second explains the concept of human development and its growing importance as a fundamental factor to stimulate economic and social development in countries, regions and localities.

It is worthy to highlight that only one essay was received as a result of our online invitation. From the rest of the contributions, two are the final reports of CEIDIR's research during the last year on human and local development. The remaining essay is a contribution of an outstanding PHD student at a prestigious United Kingdom academic institution. For our second number, we have already received two contributions from our online invitation, which are being analysed by our editorial board. This time CEIDIR's team expects a much better response as a result of the publication of our first number and enhanced promotion activities.
