From Málaga: Take the motorway direction Motril/Almería to Nerja. From Nerja take the N340 to Almuñécar. From Almuñécar it is a 40 min drive inland.

From Granada: Follow the signposts for Alpujarra/Motril. Take the right hand turn off for Otívar/Almuñécar.

El Melion is reached by 1.5km of dirt track that breathtakingly winds through steep hills with unforgettable views. We navigate the track all year round in our small van so no 4x4 is necessary although you might find it more comfortable. We recommend arriving during daylight hours to fully appreciate the exhilarating drive.
