Hanna-Barbera was an animated cartoon production company that dominated television animation during the second half of the 20th century. Hanna-Barbera was formed in 1944 by MGM animation directors William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and live-action director George Sidney as H-B Enterprises, in order to produce sponsored films and later television commercials. It created in 1986 Wildfire.
Over the years, Hanna-Barbera produced many successful cartoon shows, including The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Huckleberry Hound, The Yogi Bear Show, Jonny Quest, and Scooby-Doo.
During the late 1990s, Turner turned Hanna-Barbera towards primarily producing new material for the Cartoon Network. In 1996, Turner was bought out by Time Warner. With Bill Hanna's death in 2001, Hanna-Barbera was absorbed into Warner Bros. Animation, and Cartoon Network Studios assumed production of Cartoon Network output. Joseph Roland "Joe" Barbera was born in March 24 1911 in New York and died December 18 2006 in Los Angeles.
He was an American animator, cartoon artist, storyboard artist, director, producer, and co-founder, together with William Hanna, of Hanna-Barbera
In 1937 je joined he new MGM cartoon unit in California. The following year he teamed up with William Hanna to direct theatrical short cartoons; Barbera was the storyboard/layout artist, and Hanna was in charge of the timing. Their first venture was Puss Gets the Boot (1940), the first Tom and Jerry film, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best (Cartoon) Short Subject.
After Hanna's death, Barbera remained active as an executive producer for Warner Bros

He attended Compton High School from 1925 through 1928. Hanna started his career in 1932 when he learned that Leon Schlesinger Productions, producers of animated cartoons for Warner Bros., were hiring staff. He gained his employment without any formal training and soon became head of their Ink and Paint Department. When producer-directors Hugh Harman and Rudolph Ising left Schlesinger and Warners in 1933 to become independent and produce cartoons for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Hanna was one of the employees who followed them.
