The book of Disquiet is the main work by Pessoa in prose. It is a collection of fragments that he adscribed to Bernardo Soares, "me, without reason and affectivity" a bookkeeper in Lisbon. Here's an excellent review of the book I will refer here to links with translated fragments from this book, I haven't found much of this book in English. If anyone happens to know a page with more fragments from this book, please send it to me. Any other interesting link, comments or suggestions about the page, are indeed welcome pptolin@wanadoo.es

Here is an interview of Cees Nooteboom who speaks of Pessoa and of Santiago, for him the spiritual capital of Spain. It's funny they both appear as they do in this site. Here is the corner of my web telling about my experience going to Compostela. In fact I heard first from Cees Nooteboom in a conference in the Language School, "Nederland, Cultuurland" together with Van Gogh http://www.bookforum.com/archive/sum_02/interview_nooteboom.html
Anything that pops up in your mind when you surf throug my site, please, tell me, it wil make me happy |
