HISTORIA

Formados en Londres en 1962 por los hermanos Ray (voz y guitarra) y Dave Davies (guitarra solista), Pete Quaife (bajo) y Mick Avory (batería). Tocaron junto a Alexis Korner inspirándose en el blues y el rock and roll de Muddy Waters o Chuck Berry. Su 3er single "You really got me" alcanza el nº 1. En 1966 "Sunny afternoon" desplaza a "Paperback writer"del nº 1. Ray escribe con ironía sobre la vida en los suburbios. Otros músicos: John Dalton (bajo), Andy Pile (bajo), Jim Rodford (bajo), Gordon Edwards (teclado), Ron Berg (batería), Deve Tedstone (guitarra y coros), Graham Foster (guitarra y coros), John Gosling (teclado), Laurie Brown (trompeta), Alan Holmes (saxo) y John Beecham (trombón).
