NEWS & UPDATES: - It's been a long time since I last updated the website. In that time I was lucky enough to attend two of the Magic Tour shows here in Spain and even better: I had the chance to chat with Garry before those shows (I also met his beautiful and lovely daughter). On a personal note I have to say that I will also met my daughter soon (she was due on July 4th, but she seems to be very confortable where she is at the moment. ;^) - Garry has his new official website. Check it out at www.garrytallent.com . - New credits in The Workin' Man: Steve Forbert's 2007 release Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" and "Working on a Dream"; Also Canadian rocker Tommy John Ehman's "Wheels of Life" (2008) features Garry on bass; the album was recorded at "Moondog West" Studio in Montana where Garry relocated a few years ago. You can view a gallery of the recording sessions. - 2007-2008 Magic Tour gear update in The Gear. It seems like there are no big changes for the new 2009 tour. Garry also got a custom bass built at Main Street Vintage Guitars in Tupelo, MS. You can read about this custom bass and see a lot of photos of the building process here. - Also in the The Vault a look at the Fast Lane jams in the late 70's. - About me: This last couple of years have been crazy busy but in a good way (a great way I should say): I'm studying classical double bass, playing with a great rock band: Sweet Daddy & The Rays and enjoying every minute I spend with my wife and kids. If you want to know a little bit more about me you can check out my MySpace website COMING UP: - SOAP, "Sounds of Asbury Park" The show took place and our man and many other great shore musicians were there. Check out the SOAP article in The Vault soon. - More updates already in the works. |

NEWS & UPDATES: - First of all: Happy Birthday Garry!!! - I can't believe that a year has passed by since I last updated the website. It's been a hard and busy year for me, with several unexpected changes in my life, some for bad (or so I thought), some for good and I'm on my way out of the dark ;^) - New credits in The Workin' Man: Steve Forbert's 2007 release and Bruce Springsteen's "Magic"; I love this album and Garry's playing is outstanding. I didn't luck out with the tickets for the Spanish shows (6 hours of my life wasted in front of the computer and dialing a number that never worked for me :^() but faith is always rewarded. - 2007 Magic Tour gear update in The Gear.(with new pics) COMING UP (next week): - SOAP, "Sounds of Asbury Park" The show took place and our man and many other great shore musicians were there. craziness. ROCK ON, BOYS!!! - First of all, I have corrected a mistake in The Workin' Man section: check the "Stormin' Norman" Seldon subheader regarding The Motifs. - I have also added a few new entries: Bob Delevante's "Columbus and the Colossal Mistake", Tom Wilson's "Dog Years", Leroy Preston, Michael Humphrey and Ann Feeney. - Check The Long Players in The Vault for the latest updates on this cover band from Nashville. |

Happy Birthday,
Garry!!! - To: Kate: A Benefit for Kate’s Sake was released on October 18th. As you probably know, Garry has put together this album and produced and played bass in half of the tracks. This album is a Christmas compilation that gathers a host of outstanding musicians. You can learn more about Kate's story and order it from http://www.forkatessake.org/ I have already ordered mine and should have it here soon. I'll write a review as soon as I get to hear it. It can also be a nice present to send to friends and relatives (my father has already told me to order one for him). - I also got my copy of Dream
#29 by Cindy Bullens (with Garry on bass) and I highly recommend
it. A great album by a great songwriter. - Garry played bass with Nicky Addeo on a cover version of Gloria recorded live at the Paramount, Asbury Park, with E Streeters Clarence Clemons and Max Weinberg, plus Norman Seldin, Billy Ryan and 14 Karat Soul. You can download the song from NIcky's website: http://www.nickyaddeo.com/clips.html. |
