NEWS & UPDATES:

- It's been a long time since I last updated the website. In that time I was lucky enough to attend two of the Magic Tour shows here in Spain and even better: I had the chance to chat with Garry before those shows (I also met his beautiful and lovely daughter). On a personal note I have to say that I will also met my daughter soon (she was due on July 4th, but she seems to be very confortable where she is at the moment. ;^)

- Garry has his new official website. Check it out at www.garrytallent.com .

- New credits in The Workin' Man: Steve Forbert's 2007 release Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" and "Working on a Dream"; Also Canadian rocker Tommy John Ehman's "Wheels of Life" (2008) features Garry on bass; the album was recorded at "Moondog West" Studio in Montana where Garry relocated a few years ago. You can view a gallery of the recording sessions.

- 2007-2008 Magic Tour gear update in The Gear. It seems like there are no big changes for the new 2009 tour. Garry also got a custom bass built at Main Street Vintage Guitars in Tupelo, MS. You can read about this custom bass and see a lot of photos of the building process here.

- Also in the The Vault a look at the Fast Lane jams in the late 70's.

- About me: This last couple of years have been crazy busy but in a good way (a great way I should say): I'm studying classical double bass, playing with a great rock band: Sweet Daddy & The Rays and enjoying every minute I spend with my wife and kids. If you want to know a little bit more about me you can check out my MySpace website

COMING UP:

- SOAP, "Sounds of Asbury Park" The show took place and our man and many other great shore musicians were there. Check out the SOAP article in The Vault soon.

- More updates already in the works.

NEWS & UPDATES:

- First of all: Happy Birthday Garry!!!

- I can't believe that a year has passed by since I last updated the website. It's been a hard and busy year for me, with several unexpected changes in my life, some for bad (or so I thought), some for good and I'm on my way out of the dark ;^)

- New credits in The Workin' Man: Steve Forbert's 2007 release and Bruce Springsteen's "Magic"; I love this album and Garry's playing is outstanding. I didn't luck out with the tickets for the Spanish shows (6 hours of my life wasted in front of the computer and dialing a number that never worked for me :^() but faith is always rewarded.

- 2007 Magic Tour gear update in The Gear.(with new pics)

COMING UP (next week):

- SOAP, "Sounds of Asbury Park" The show took place and our man and many other great shore musicians were there. Check out the SOAP article in The Vault.

NEWS & UPDATES:

- Our man celebrates his birthday next Friday. Happy Birthday Garry!!! I'm celebrating mine a few hours later and my special present is having Bruce Springsteen playing in my hometown tomorrow. The only thing that could be better than this is to have Garry playing here with him and having a chance to taking him out for diner...maybe next time.

- Ghrun Guitars in Nashville has a lot of instruments from Garry's collection for sale: basses and electric and acoustic guitars. Some great pieces there...a couple of them I wish I could afford. I have updated The Gear section with all this gear. Go to the bottom of the page.

- Exciting news from Steve Forbert. He has been recording his new studio album with Garry on bass and should be released in March 2007.

- Scheduled for December 9, "Sounds of Asbury Park" benefit concert: On December 9, the city of Asbury Park will honor and celebrate its musical past. The celebration kicks off at noon, with the dedication of a monument on the boardwalk next to the Convention Hall, memorializing the names of the musicians who helped formulate the Sounds Of Asbury Park (S.O.A.P).  These founding fathers of S.O.A.P. are Johnny Shaw, Billy Ryan, Bruce Springsteen, Garry Tallent, Steve Van Zandt, Mickey Holiday, "Stormin'" Norman Seldin, Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez, Fast Eddie "Doc Holiday" Wohanka, Billy "Cherry Bomb" Lucia, Clarence Clemons, Nicky Addeo, Donnie Lowell, Jim "Jack Valentine" Cattanach, Ken "Popeye" Pentifallo, Jay Pilling, Jon "Cos" Consoli, Gary "A" Arntz, Larry "The Great" Gadsby, Steve "Mole" Wells, Ray Dahrouge, Johnny "A" Arntz, David Sancious, Margaret Potter, Tom Potter, Sonny Kenn, Tom Wuorio, Rick DeSarno, Southside Johnny Lyon, Leon Trent, Buzzy Lubinsky, Danny Federici, Bill Chinnock, Patsy Siciliano and Sam Siciliano.
That evening, a once-in-a-lifetime event will be held at the
Stone Pony called "The Creators Of S.O.A.P. In Concert." The idea for this concert grew out of discussions between Garry Tallent and Fast Eddie "Doc Holiday" about the many originators of the Asbury Park sound that had been forgotten over the years -- and the realization that time to honor these living legends was quickly running out. After the initial discussions of a charity event were met with enthusiasm by the management of the Stone Pony, concert plans started to come together.
Currently scheduled to appear at the Stone Pony on the evening of December 9 are "The Thunder of the E Street Band" Garry Tallent, Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez, Ken "Popeye" Pentifallo, Donnie Lowell, Billy Ryan & the Bluescasters, Steel Mill Retro, "Stormin'" Norman Seldin, Billy "Cherry Bomb" Lucia, John "Cos" Consoli, Gary "A" Arntz, Jim "Jack Valentine" Cattanach, Fast Eddie "Doc Holiday" Nicky Addeo, Rick DeSarno, Jay Pilling, Bill Chinnock, Lance Larson, Mickey Holiday, Lisa Lowell of the Seeger Sessions Band, Patsy Siciliano, Sam Siciliano, Anthony Mirabile, Craig Krampt, and others. NEWS:

- A "longhorn" bass guitar played by Garry as well as many other items used on the road and in the studio with the E Street Band are among the items expected to be on display in the all-genre, international Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville. The 30,000-square-foot complex, also featuring a recording studio, performance hall, small theater and music school, is scheduled to open in June. Among the supporters of the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum is Neil Young that said "You can see the hood ornament on the car if you go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but if you want to look at the engine and see what's making it go, then you go to the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum."

- To: Kate: A Benefit for Kate’s Sake was released on October 18th. As you probably know, Garry has put together this album and produced and played bass in half of the tracks. This album is a Christmas compilation that gathers a host of outstanding musicians. You can learn more about Kate's story and order it from http://www.forkatessake.org/ I have already ordered mine and should have it here soon. I'll write a review as soon as I get to hear it. It can also be a nice present to send to friends and relatives (my father has already told me to order one for him).

NEWS:

- Old news by now, but Garry appeared in Chicago on Saturday, April 23, at the Chicago Improv Festival, where he performed with Baby Wants Candy, an award-winning, Chicago-based improv group. Last year Baby Wants Candy tried improvising with a live band, to great success. The band came back for this year's made-up musical, joined by Garry. As some already say: I've seen the future of comedy and its name is Garry Tallent :^)
- Bruce's new album Devil's & Dust doesn't  have Garry on the credits, but according to Bruce himself, a new E Street Band album might be on the plans. As always, let's take his words with a grain of salt.

- It's been a long time with no updates to the website. My spare time is almost non existent and to make things worse I'm spending a lot of time working on the road. I’ve been walkin’ round this mean old town
A sad and lonely boy

When everything was a joy
We’d ride around in Garry’s rusty Ford

12/29/2000:

A FEW WORDS FROM ME:
 - On December 31, 1999 my/your tribute page to Garry became available in the Internet. It's been a very rewarding job for me, I have met lots of nice people through the page and they have "pushed" me to work harder to improve it. Thanks to all of you.
To celebrate Garry's Corner's first anniversary we have a new update. It's a very special one for me, hope you enjoy the new stuff. Read below to know what you can expect. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Peace and Love for everybody.

NEWS:
 - Garry has been very busy lately. He has finished the new Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes studio album entitled "Messin' with the Blues". Apart from being the producer, Garry has played bass and cowritten a song with Henry Gross.
Back with Bruce, Garry went on stage last Sunday (12/17) and Monday (12/18) in Asbury Park. The Convention Hall was the chosen venue for the officially billed as "Bruce Springsteen with the Max Weinberg Seven and Friends" shows. He played tuba on Jingle Bells, upright bass on Blue Christmas and join the rest of the E Streeters for several songs. According to what I have read in RMAS, two very special shows for Bruce, the rest of the musicians, the audience and Asbury Park.

UPDATES:
- New stuff in almost every section, check the "update" date in the Home page to know which sections have been updated.
- The mistery bass is not a mistery anymore, thanks to Robert De La Cruz from Austin TX (thanks a lot). Go to The Gear section if you guess which bass Garry played in the BITUSA tour.

- A very special song in The Basslines this time... Rosie, come out tonight!!!

12/01/2000:
