ALPE d'HUEZ - 1850 m
Start. Bourg d'Oisans
Access. Grenoble - direction Briançon
It's the most famous climb in the last decades. Its 13km with 180º bends are a pleasure for crazy bikers. The first 2 km are the steppest, close to 10%...but after that it's just a little bit easier, never less than 7%.

Last section. You can see the top!
After having climbed it twice, I have different feelings. The first time I climbed more similar to Ullrich, with 39x23, and it was quite hard. Despite of being an Ullrich fan, I've changed my rpm's climbing, as Lance does. This year, I tried with 39x25 and I got a worthy 54'15" til the entrance of the Alpe. The last kilometers, where you can see the top, are more relaxing. In comparison with other mountains, I can say that Alpe d'Huez has more of myth than of other things...but having a look at other mountains in that area with only one side to climb, this is the hardest.
